Report: Samsung to supply A6 CPU to Apple

October 17, 2011 By kunal 1 Comment

Apple A6

Samsung’s legal tussle with Apple was reported to have strained their component buyer-seller relationship. However, contrary to earlier reports, news from Korea is that Samsung may still produce the next-generation A6 processor for Apple products. Samsung will produce the A6 quad-core SoC based on 28-nm processing technology in a facility in Austin, Texas.

`Apple has been in talks with Samsung over shipment of its A6 quad-core mobile processor (AP) chips to be used in the next iPhone. It appears that Apple clearly has concluded that Samsung remains a critical business partner.
