US Court Judge Lucy Koh denied Apple’s request for preliminary injunction against Samsung Galaxy devices. The argument put forth by Apple didn’t seem to impress Koh who said that it was not clear “that an injunction on Samsung’s accused devices would prevent Apple from being irreparably harmed.”

Samsung was understandably relieved with the ruling. Samsung’s Jason Kim said the “ruling confirms our long-held view that Apple’s arguments lack merit.”

Koh added that for an injunction, Apple will have to show an infringement as well as the validity of the patent.
