Israeli firm leaks Samsung’s AMOLED display tech

June 27, 2012 By kunal Leave a Comment

A firm has reportedly leaked key display technologies used by Samsung Mobile Display and LG Display. While the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office hasn’t divulged the company’s name, employees of the Israeli firm have been charged with leaking of technologies used to produce AMOLED display and White OLED displays.

Accused employees took photos of the circuit diagrams of the unreleased 55-inch OLED TV panels and most likely forwarded to the company’s headquarters and other Chinese and Taiwanese firms. Chinese panel manufacturer, BOE is also suspected to have received the diagrams.

Samsung is estimated to have invested around 1.4 trillion won to develop its OLED display technology.
