Samsung KNOX enhances security on BYOD Android devices

February 25, 2013 By kunal Leave a Comment

Samsung KNOX

Samsung already runs an enterprise-centric Samsung for Enterprise (SAFE) program and to provide an end-to-end secure solution, they introduced KNOX that enhances security from the hardware through the application layer.

Samsung says the KNOX uses Security Enhanced Android that is developed by NSA (National Security Agency) and offers security at a number of levels keeping the content on the personal and work data separate and secure.

Another advantage of KNOX is the compatibility with common enterprise infrastructure such as MDM, VPN and directory services and even adds enterprise integration and validation to existing apps, thus eliminating the need for the developer to add enterprise features.

Samsung plans to offer KNOX in selected Galaxy devices from Q2 2013. Rest assured, Galaxy S4 will be in the list.
