Samsung is showcasing their Smart Signage Platform at the Digital Signage Expo (DSE) that makes it easier for marketers to use digital signage. The open-source solution, Samsung believes, will simplify digital signage deployment as well as facilitate the growth of new application ecosystem with SDK support.

The platform is embedded with an SoC featuring dual-core CPU, full codec video processor and 4GB or 8GB internal storage, thus eliminating the need to run the digital content off the PC or any other device. Furthermore, it’s a cloud-based solution, which means software updates and changes can be directly pushed to the connected display remotely.

Digital signage products that will support this platform will be launched later this year and includes ME – C series, PE – C series and MD – C series.
