Samsung planning to sell Liquavista to Amazon

March 22, 2013 By kunal 1 Comment

liquavista

Samsung bought the Dutch-based display company Liquavista couple of years back for its Electrowetting display (EWD). Now Bloomberg reports that Samsung is in talks to sell the company because the acquisition didn’t meet its “expectations”. Another reason could be Samsung’s reliance on OLED as the superior display technology.

Samsung is reportedly in talks with Amazon and could sell the company and the technology for less than $100 million.

Since the acquisition of Liquavista, Samsung showcased its progress with Electrowetting displays (EWD) at technology events and even promised to mass produce this year.
