Month-old Galaxy S4 catches fire in UAE

July 9, 2013 By kunal Leave a Comment

Admittedly, not as dangerous as the one we saw yesterday but apparently a Galaxy S4 owner in UAE found her device in flames when she kept the device charging overnight. Thankfully the owner wasn’t hurt but as it is evident from the picture, the phone’s microUSB port, USB cable and the S View cover were burnt.

Samsung Gulf Electronics has confirmed to be looking into the incident and even agreed to give the owner a brand new Galaxy S4 as well as the cover as compensation.

We’ve heard of few instances where Galaxy S III has popped up in flames but this is the first time we’re seeing Samsung’s current flagship on the receiving end.

We have gotten hold of the product in question, and will be conducting a thorough examination to determine the exact cause of this incident.
