Samsung has released new software update for its Galaxy S II Plus phone in Germany. The XXUBMG8 update is available over OTA or via Kies and will upgrade the Android Jelly Bean OS from v4.1.2 to v4.2.2. The new update will improve device performance and bring in features like lock screen widgets, tabbed settings menu and lots more.
The release is interesting because Samsung is yet to release Android 4.2.2 for its faster and better phones like Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II and gives more credence to the rumour that both these devices will be directly updated to Android 4.3.
If you have not got the OTA notification or don’t want to update via Kies, an Odin-flashable file awaits at the source link.
