Earlier this week, President Obama vetoed to disapprove the ban of select Apple devices and now the second blow of the week for Samsung came from the final ruling of the USITC that was delayed by a week. The final decision by the trade commission finds that some Samsung devices infringe on couple of Apple patents and have ordered to ban the import and sell the devices that will go into effect after the Presidential review.
The commission found Samsung devices like Galaxy S 4G, Fascinate, Captivate, Galaxy Tab, and Galaxy Tab 10.1 to infringe on two Apple patents – Patent No. 7,479,949 (‘949) and Patent No. 7,912,501 (‘501) related to the scrolling and audio input/output when the headset is plugged.
The decision came after the first complaint by Apple two years ago and the devices in question were launched around the same year.
Samsung is understandably disappointed with the decision and in a statement to The Verge, claim that they’ve “already taken measures to ensure that all of our products will continue to be available in the United States.”
