Smartphone leader, Samsung expects to extend their lead in the African continent. According to Thabiet Allie, head of content and services for Samsung Electronics Africa, out of 20 million smartphones that has been sold this year, slightly more than half were from Samsung. This means we’re seeing sales of at least of 10 million and with a month and a half to go for the year to end, Samsung could easily end up within a range of 13 million handsets.

Bullish on the African smartphone, Allie projects to double the sales in 2014 and a “substantial increase” in 2015.
