Korean court rejects Samsung’s request to ban iPhone and iPad

Samsung faced a major setback today as the South Korean court rejected Samsung’s bid to ban sales of Apple products in the country. Samsung claimed Apple products like iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and iPad 2 infringed three of their patents but the Court differed with the accusation as they gave a clean chit to Apple products, throwing Samsung’s claim to put a sales ban.

The court also rejected Samsung’s plea of 100 million won ($95,100) in damages.

Needless to say, Apple is happy about the verdict and termed Samsung accusations as “ridiculous claims” while Samsung will most likely appeal the verdict.

Apple has continued to infringe our patented mobile technologies, we will continue to take the measures necessary to protect our intellectual property rights.
