Samsung PM853T

Samsung has announced that they’ve started mass production of its 3-bit MLC (multi-level cell) NAND-based SSDs for servers. Samsung says the PM853T SSD will allow data centers to better manage their operations, thus increasing their efficiency.

With the use of 3-bit NAND, Samsung says the new SSD delivers a 30 percent increase in manufacturing efficiency, eventually enabling companies to invest in SSDs at par with consumer SSDs.

The PM853T comes in capacities of 240GB, 480GB and 960GB and offers a sequential read speed of 530MB/s and writing sequentially at 420MB/s. The random read/write stands at 90,000/14,000 IOPS respectively.
