Samsung has dabbled with a SIM-equipped smartwatch in the past but according to an article by Wall Street Journal, the Korean giant is working on a similar watch but this time with Tizen operating system on board. According to their sources, the stand-alone smartwatch or watchphone will be able to make or receive calls without the user needing to connect the watch to the smartphone and will have a camera, support email, navigation and even monitor the heart rate.

While the report doesn’t pin an exact date, their source claims the device could launch sometime in June or July.

Samsung currently sells the Galaxy Gear, Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo smartwatches and all devices tether to the user’s smartphone.
