Samsung is working on a rugged variant of the Galaxy S6, according to report by SamMobile. According to the website, the phone will be known as Galaxy S6 Active bearing the model nubmer SM-G890A, a variant for AT&T.

As for the specs, the device will gain some resistance against water and dust but internally, it will be more or less similar to the recently announced Galaxy S6. The phone is expected to have a 5.1-inch QHD display, Exynos 7420 SoC, 3GB RAM, 16 megapixel camera and 32GB internal memory.

Two changes in the Active variant will be the thickness, which will increase to 8.8mm compared to Galaxy S6’s 6.8mm and will have a huge 3500mAh battery compared to 2550mAh on the Galaxy S6.

There’s no word on the release date but the original Galaxy S6 will be available from April 10.
