Samsung first introduced Universal Flash Storage aka UFS storage with the Galaxy S6 family. This new standard is said to be faster and reliable when compared to the eMMC-based flash storage. The Korean giant is now expanding the same goodness to removable memory cards with the introduction of UFS memory cards.
The cards will be available in capacities starting from 32GB and goes up to 256GB. Apart from the generous storage, the cards are generally faster than a conventional but top-end microSD card.
The UFS cards offer a sequential write speed of up to 170MB/s and a read speed of up to 530MB/s, making the read speed as fast as SSDs.
The IOPS is also understandably higher than the usual microSD card with random read rate of 40,000 IOPS and write rate at 35,000 IOPS.
