Samsung confirms Aug 2 event for Galaxy Note7

Samsung Unpacked

Mark your calendars, everyone as Samsung has confirmed the announcement of their upcoming Galaxy Note device. Samsung will reveal the device on August 2 at an Unpacked event in New York but will also hold simultaneous events in Rio de Janeiro and London.

Samsung’s Unpacked event invitations are generally teasers but that’s not the case with this one as Samsung has come out and confirmed the name of the device as well as the reasoning behind it to name Galaxy Note7 and not Galaxy Note6.

Samsung reckons Galaxy Note7 unifies their product portfolio with Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge and minimises “confusion”.

Galaxy Note7 has been leaked a few times and is rumoured to have an improved QHD display, new Exynos processor, UFS card support and more.
