Samsung has partnered with CLEAR to launch Samsung ID with CLEAR, which can be added to Samsung Wallet. The integration allows US passport holders to verify their identity at over 250 TSA checkpoints using their Galaxy device, eliminating the need to present a physical ID at airport security.
The feature uses CLEAR’s identity verification platform to validate a user’s US passport by storing a TSA-approved digital ID directly within Samsung Wallet. Travelers can present the ID via a tap or a QR scan, which is stored on-device and encrypted through Samsung Knox.
Beyond airports, Samsung ID with CLEAR also supports age verification at BMO Stadium in Los Angelesz.
Setting up the feature requires opening the Quick Access tab in Samsung Wallet, selecting Digital IDs, and choosing Samsung ID with CLEAR. Users can also upgrade to a CLEAR+ membership, which includes access to dedicated CLEAR+ lanes at airports, directly from their phone.
Samsung ID with CLEAR is live now for US passport holders on compatible Galaxy devices running Android 9.0 or higher.
