
Samsung’s Galaxy XR will go on sale in the UK from July 8. The headset marks Samsung’s first extended reality device in the UK market, built on the Android XR platform developed with Google and Qualcomm.
Galaxy XR supports multimodal AI interactions through voice, vision and gesture, and is designed for use across work, entertainment and discovery. It runs on a Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform and paired with a 4K Micro-OLED display for the ultimate immersive experience.
The device supports Google Maps Immersive View, YouTube’s 180 and 360-degree VR library, pass-through video with Circle to Search, and auto-spatialisation of photos and videos into 3D. Battery life is rated at up to 2.5 hours for video playback.
Samsung Galaxy XR also supports Android Enterprise, allowing IT admins to deploy and manage devices using existing Android management frameworks with use cases highlighted across retail, healthcare and manufacturing.
The Galaxy XR is available for pre-order now and goes on sale from 8th July via Samsung UK’s website and select Samsung Experience Stores for 1700 GBP.
