Samsung memory cards now available in United States

Samsung has announced the availability of its new range of memory cards for the US market. Apt for digital imaging and mobile devices, seven new models of SD and microSD cards are now available that promises a read speed of up to 24MB/sec (4GB and above).

The memory cards are part of High Speed Series or the Plus Extreme Speed Series and boasts an attractive brushed metal design. Additionally, the cards are tested to withstand water, shock and magnets enhancing their durability. For instance, these cards can survive in up to 24 hours of water, survive the force of 1.6ton (3200lbs) vehicle and resist up to 10,000 gauss ( unit of measurement of a magnetic field).

Pricing and capacity of High Speed range of SD cards and microSD cards vary from 2GB to 32GB and sell for $10 to $90 whereas the Plus Extreme Series comes in capacities of 8GB and 16GB and are priced at $30 and $55 respectively.
