Samsung may launch its S-Cloud service by August, according to a report by ETNews. The Korean company is planning to launch its own cloud service to combat Apple’s iCloud but it seems Samsung won’t be ready to rollout the service soon.
Samsung S-Cloud’s infrastructure was developed by Samsung SDS but apparently, the infrastructure developed by the subsidiary turned out to be unsuitable for global market.
Now Samsung Media Solution Center (SMSC) is looking to adopt commercially available solution due to their stability and is looking at solutions from KT and other virtualization and software companies. The report also hints that Samsung may use some of Amazon’s infrastructure for some features.
