Samsung and Visa to showcase Olympics Payment app at MWC

Samsung and Visa today announced the official mobile payment app for Olympics that will take place in London later this year. The app takes advantage of Visa’s payWave technology, allowing users to carry out contactless transactions with just their phone.

In addition to payment, the app will also allow users to check their account balance, transaction history in a secure way.

Samsung and Visa will install 3,000 contactless terminals during the London Olympics.

Last year, Samsung confirmed to collaborate with Visa to launch a special Olympic phone that will feature NFC and special Olympic content.
