Samsung had promised to release the Android 4.0 update for Galaxy S II in Q1 2012 and it seems they’ll deliver pretty soon. According to a Facebook post by Samsung Israel, the company will release the Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy S II on March 15. The date seems to be relevant for the Israeli market, which if we go by Samsung’s history, other European markets could get the update a tad early.
Samsung will also update other high-end devices to Android 4.0 but it will be released at a later date.
Great… but that’s useless for T-Mobile USA users… an orphan model with a different processor = last or never updated (sigh)
Samsung made it very clear in a press release, that ALL Galaxy S2 family devices will be updated to Android 4.0.x Q1. Galaxy S1’s have limitations on hardware, so it may not be updated
