UPDATE: Looks like another test was posted on GLBenchmark with the same model number. Although the device has now been removed, the test shows a new firmware build and a proper 720p display (1280×720). In short, this device is probably with a physical Home button. Check the screen shot below. Thanks, Fayez!
A benchmark result of Samsung’s GT-I9300 has been published on GLBenchmark’s website. While we don’t have the complete specs yet, the result does reveal some interesting things. The device will run Ice Cream Sandwich and will be powered by an Exynos processor. The phone’s board is listed as “smdk4x12,” which means it will most likely use Exynos 4212 or 4412 supporting a maximum clock speed of 1.4GHz.
Another interesting fact is the screen resolution. If you recollect, Samsung published an UAProf of the device last month claiming the screen resolution to be 1024×600 pixels. Well, according to the GLBenchmark results, the phone has a resolution of 1196×720 pixels, which is similar to the Galaxy Nexus, hinting at a buttonless design.
So is this device really, the Galaxy S III? PocketNow who stumbled on the result believes so but the I9300 seems more of an enhanced Galaxy S II (perhaps with S-Pen support) rather than its successor.

Not at all impressed. I will explain why:
“Galaxy S” series is a brand for the best and the baddest Android handset. It is supposed, and expected to have the best of class hardware and software. Anything less is TOTAL failure. It must have absolute-best internals, no exceptions. CPU/GPU/RAM/Screen/Battery/Camera everything should be more/better/stronger than competitors. If it’s running Mali400, it’s a absolute and a horrific blunder. It will be catastrophic. It MUST be scoring (minimum) 4x iPhone 4s or same as iPad3 in every possible benchmarks. If not, it will be absolutely pathetic and the worst possible thing for Samsung. Don’t be a cheap Asian manufacturer trying to save money. If you want respect, you must have A15 SoC with Mali T6xx GPU. Anything less is FAILURE.
If you mocked Apple saying iPhone 4 looked same as 4S. This same formula will be applied to you — you are using 2 year old tech on a new phone. You WILL be cheating customers if you use Mali400. I will not recommend any cheap products with 2-yr old tech. Simple logic — either you give what WE want, or you can kiss my black a**

Calm down. If this has Mali 400, it’s not the Galaxy SIII. This is the i9300, probably SII+. There’s still the i9500 and i9800.
