Apple could buy Samsung parts worth $11 billion

March 13, 2012 By kunal Leave a Comment

Apple and Samsung may be at war on the mobile devices front but it’s an undeniable fact that Apple is the biggest customer for the Korean conglomerate. Last year, Apple raked up a bill of $7.8 billion and according to a Samsung official, the figure may reach to the tune of $11 billion this year.

An iSuppli analyst claims Samsung will supply LCD screen panels for the new iPad as LG Display and Sharp couldn’t meet Apple’s quality requirements. Samsung is also apparently in talks with Apple to provide displays for smaller-sized 7.85-inch iPads.

Samsung currently supplies mobile application processors, DRAMs, NAND flash chips etc. to Apple.
