Samsung and Apple’s legal tussle started back in April 2011 and exactly a year after both companies have agreed to sit down and try to settle the lawsuits. Both the companies have agreed to discuss the settlement with their respective CEO and the general counsel as they’re the “appropriate decision makers.”
The settlement discussion will take place within 90 days and will be presided by Magistrate Judge Joseph Spero.
At the direction of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Samsung and Apple have agreed to participate in a Magistrate Judge Settlement Conference. This settlement conference will take place within 90 days, with the presence of each party’s chief executive officer and general counsel.
A Bloomberg report last month hinted of a possible negotation as Apple’s current CEO Tim Cook reckoned patent lawsuits as “necessary evil.”
