Samsung is one of the founding members of the Tizen OS and it comes as no surprise the Tizen developer conference was showcasing a developer device produced by Samsung. The phone which will be used by developers to test out their Tizen apps features an ARM-based 1.2GHz dual-core processor, which is interesting because Intel is another company backing the Tizen operating system. Additionally, the phone is reported to have a 720p HD display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, microUSB etc.
As evident from the video, Tizen’s UI is heavily influenced by Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. The app icons as well as some app interfaces are similar.
Tizen was announced in September last year and supports web standards like HTML5 and WAC.
