Samsung Electronics has been sued by LG Display in South Korea over the alleged use of OLED displays in its smartphones and tablets. LG Display claims Samsung devices like Galaxy S II, Galaxy S II HD, Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab 7.7 use OLED panels that infringe on seven OLED related patents owned by LG’s subsidiary.
LG Display filed the case in Seoul Central District Court and is seeking damages and a permanent injunction on the devices.
Samsung and LG Display have been embroiled in a public spat for quite some time with Samsung accusing LG Display to have facilitated in an OLED tech leak and later filing an injunction for the same.
