Samsung’s subsidiary Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. (SSI) has announced to build a 1.1 million square foot sales and R&D headquarters just north of downtown San Jose. The building will be designed by global architecture firm NBBJ and will be a 10-story tower with an amenity pavilion and parking garage. Samsung says the new facility will help to improve “interaction among staff, foster connections with the community and provide a space to attract employment.”

Samsung is doubling down on investment in Silicon Valley as Samsung’s another subsidiary will also be expanding and relocating its R&D center to an 8.5 acre campus which is expected to be completed in 2013.
