Samsung will introduce TV Discovery service at the Mobile World Congress next week. The service will help consumers find live TV and video content in real-time and will give suggestions based on the viewing habits of the user. Samsung says the service will work on Smart TVs as well as on mobile devices.
TV Discovery works by gathering information from live TV and various other sources like YouTube and offers recommendations to watch content based on the user preference. It will also have the social sharing aspect that will allow users to share what they’re watching with friends and vice-versa.
Making the service available on various devices also enables easy transfer or mirroring the content to other connected device.
TV Discovery will be released on Smart TVs in Q1 2013 in South Korea, US and 14 European countries whereas support for mobile devices will be added in Q2 of this year.
