Just like last year, Samsung will host a two-day event to encourage STEM – science, technology, engineering and mathematics – students to come up with a revolutionary mobile app idea. The event is now known as Mobile App Academy and will be hosted at six different locations for 11th and 12th grade STEM students where they’ll get access to many app developers and entrepreneurs, enabling them to learn about development on mobile in detail.
Students will be encouraged to submit their app concept and the best concept will win $20,000 in scholarship followed by $10,000 and $5,000 for second and third place winners along with a Galaxy S4. 4th and 5th place winners will also receive the Samsung flagship phone.
Samsung Mobile App Academies will be held at the following locations:
June 26–27: San Francisco, CA, University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley)
July 10–11: Atlanta, GA, Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech)
July 17–18: Chicago, IL, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC)
