Samsung has been caught a couple of times in the past for temporarily boosting the phone’s performance to achieve a higher benchmark score. Moves like these dilute the importance of benchmark scores, which is why, Futuremark – the creator of 3DMark benchmark tool – has announced to delist some devices from its database “with suspicious scores”.
The list currently includes couple of devices from HTC along with Samsung’s latest Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition devices. Interestingly, Futuremark has barred both the variants – the Exynos 5 Octa as well as the Snapdragon 800 variants.
Futuremark claims “people rely on Futuremark benchmarks to produce accurate and unbiased results” and the fact that the aforementioned devices didn’t adhere to the rules laid down by them, they’ve delisted the devices. The delisted devices will be unranked with no score and will appear at the bottom of the device list table.

I used the 3dmark scores to make my choice between the nexus 7 and samsungs galaxy tab. Had I purchased the inferior samsung and later found out they lied I would have been furious. Thank you guys at 3dmark. I am happy with my nexus 7.
