Samsung has added a new SSD to their portfolio designed specifically for data centers. The Samsung 845DC EVO uses Samsung’s 10-nm class 3-bit NAND flash memory along with the firmware and controller of PM853T SSD, which Samsung feels is a perfect combination for “sustained performance, low latency and high endurance in read-intensive data center applications.”
The 845DC EVO SSD’s active power consumption is approximately 4 watts, which is about 25 percent less than that of an HDD and boasts a sequential read speed of 530MB/s and 87,000 IOPS for random reads.
The SSD will be available from this month in capacities of 240GB, 480GB and 960GB.
