Galaxy S5’s smaller-sized sibling got the official treatment today as Samsung announced the Galaxy S5 mini. The new mini variant cuts in the hardware specs but keeps Galaxy S5-like features like a fingerprint sensor, heart rate sensor, IP67 certified body with a perforated back cover, Ultra Power Saving Mode, Kids Mode and Private Mode.
The cutback has happened on the display, processor, RAM, camera and battery front, which is now a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED panel with 1280×720 pixel resolution, 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB RAM, 8 megapixel main camera with 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera and 2100mAh battery.
The phone has 16GB of internal memory and microSD card slot supporting up to 64GB.
The Galaxy S5 mini will be available in Russia from this month in Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold and will gradually expand in other markets.
