UPDATE: Samsung Netherlands’ recommended retail price of the Galaxy Alpha is 599 euros.
As rumoured, Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Alpha. The phone is slim at just 6.7mm, lightweight at 115g and has a metal frame on the side along with a soft touch back that gives the phone a premium look.
Specs-wise, the Galaxy Alpha runs Android 4.4.4 and boasts a 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED Display (720p), LTE Cat. 6 support, Exynos 5 Octa processor (1.8GHz quad + 1.3GHz quad), 12 megapixel camera with front-facing 2.1 megapixel camera, 32GB internal memory, 1860mAh battery. Interestingly, the phone does not have a memory card slot and supports Nano SIM.
The phone also features a fingerprint sensor, heart rate sensor, Ultra Power Saving Mode, S Health and even support for Samsung wearable devices.
There’s no word on the price but Samsung will sell the device in 150 countries starting next month in black, white, gold, silver and blue.
