Samsung’s efforts to entice developers to develop apps for the Gear platform seems to be paying off. The Korean giant has confirmed that the Gear-specific app store is a home to over 1,000 apps. Samsung has published a neat infographic highlighting the top 5 apps for Gear devices.
Understandably, these apps are compatible with the Galaxy Gear, Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and not the Gear Live since the latter is powered by Google’s Android Wear platform.
Samsung hasn’t revealed how successful their Gear smartwatches are but wearables is certainly one of the areas Samsung is focusing on.
According to a recent report, Samsung is also working on a SIM-based Gear smartwatch that will be revealed at the IFA next month.
