Samsung India’s MSC (Media Solutions Center) division today announced the improved version of its Club Samsung service. Club Samsung 2.0 for the uninitiated, is similar in nature to now-discontinued Samsung Hub and offers music, movies, videos & mobile TV to Indian Samsung Galaxy users.
Club Samsung 2.0 however, builds on the fact that it is created in India, for India with choices of movies, videos, songs, Mobile TV with over 90 channels in many Indian languages. The Discovery feature has also been improved, which is nothing but Club Samsung’s recommendation engine that automatically updates the user’s playlist with content based on their mood, language or location.
Club Samsung 2.0 uses Samsung account, which means the content associated with a single Samsung profile can be synced across 5 Samsung devices. Furthermore, Club Samsung 2.0 also features a “unified player” for playing all offline or online content and jog dial-shaped music player for one-handed operation.
Club Samsung 2.0 will be available for download from September 30 on Galaxy App Store and will work with 14 Samsung devices initially. Samsung plans to expand the support to 33 devices in a few months.
Samsung had introduced the Club Samsung service in India with Galaxy Grand 2 in December last year.
