Samsung today officially announced the Galaxy A8. The phone was announced in China and takes the crown for being Samsung’s slimmest phone to date.
The phone is just 5.9mm at the thinnest side and is clearly inspired by Galaxy S6’s design. Galaxy A8 features A 5.7-inch Full HD 1920×1080 Super AMOLED Display, Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16 megapixel main camera with 5 megapixel on the front and 3050mAh battery .
Additionally, the phone runs Android 5.1.1 and comes with 4G LTE support, fingerprint sensor 16GB or 32GB internal memory, microSD card slot and bunch of pre-loaded apps from content partners.
There’s no word on the international availability date but given Samsung’s track record, we will see the device in other markets soon.
