Staying true to its word, Samsung has started the rollout of its Galaxy Tab S2 tablet. Starting with its home market, both the variants of Galaxy Tab S2 will be available in South Korea from 11th of this month.
The Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 have a thickness of just 5.6mm and weighs just 392g and 272g respectively. Both tablets support LTE-A connectivity and features Super AMOLED Display that delivers a 94 percent Adobe RGB colour standard with a resolution support of 2048×1536 (QXGA) and features like Adaptive Display that auto adjusts gamma, saturation and sharpness and Reading Mode that adjusts the screen’s brightness level for prolonged reading sessions.
On the performance side, the Galaxy Tab S2 devices are powered by Samsung’s octa-core processor (1.9GHz + 1.3GHz), 3GB RAM, LTE Cat. 6 support, 32GB internal memory, fingerprint sensor and 8 megapixel (rear) and 2.1 megapixel cameras (front). The Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 has 5870mAh battery while the 8.0 variant has 4000mAh rated battery.
On the software side, the tablet comes pre-loaded with some Microsoft apps as well as local apps like Travallon, pooq, Edu ON and Papergarden.
Samsung will sell the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 for 719,000 Korean won whereas the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 will go for 599,000 Korean won. Samsung will also sell the 9.7-inch variant with a keyboard bundle for 799,000 Korean won.
