UPDATE 2: Samsung has announced the recall. More here.
UPDATE: Yonhap News expects the briefing will be done for a recall.
Samsung has confirmed that they’re holding a briefing regarding the Galaxy Note7 reliability issue later today. The briefing will be addressed by Samsung Mobile’s chief DJ Koh who will present the findings of their investigation on the Galaxy Note7 quality. It’s not yet confirmed if there will be a recall but Reuters’ sources reckon Samsung is considering to announce the recall of its flagship phone.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note7 came under scanner when there were reports of Galaxy Note7 catching fire and even stopped supplying units in South Korea. Samsung has also delayed shipping of Galaxy Note7 devices in the Indian market.
This is actually a major blow to the Korean giant as there been some interest for the device by the consumers after the success of Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.
