Samsung has had its plate full since the Galaxy Note7 recall. While Samsung is yet to share the exact cause of the phone catching fire, the probable culprit seems to be the battery. Now a report emerging from South Korea claims that Samsung might knock on its archrival’s door, LG to satiate its smartphone battery demand. Nothing is set in stone yet but according to Chosun Ilbo’s source, the talks between Samsung and LG Chemical have been “productive” and is close to “90 percent” done.
The report further claims that LG batteries will be used in Samsung smartphones in second half of next year since it takes somewhere around six months to design, manufacture and test batteries.
