Samsung develops 8GB microSD card

May 17, 2007 By kunal 1 Comment

8GB microSD card

Samsung is pushing the limit of memory cards being used in mobile phones. They have unveiled the miniscule microSD card which can store 8GB of data. That is equal to storing 2000 MP3 music files, 4,000 digital photos or approximately 5 DVD-quality movies. Samsung claims that these cards are faster than the latest SDHC cards and gives a reading speed of 16MB/s and a writing speed of 6MB/s. There are no details about when this card will be available for sale but they reckon that these high capacity cards will be the mainstream cards by 2010.
