SSDs are taking world by storm. And Samsung, smart enough to cash on this opportunity has announced the mass production of 1.8” 64GB SSDs meant for notebooks. This means that Samsung will become the world’s largest producer of high-capacity SSDs.

SSDs are faster than HDDs because it contains no moving parts and is also energy efficient. The Samsung produced disks will use 51nm fabrication and based on Single Level Cell (SLC) flash chips.
