Sprint offers Airave for Enhanced In-Home Coverage and Unlimited Calling

Samsung Airave

Sprint has announced Airave provided by Samsung which is the first commercially available femtocell device. Installing Airave in homes, users will be able to get a network boost in the coverage and free talk time. This is possible because, the calls on any Sprint phone within an Airave reach will get routed via the Internet with the help of a broadband connection. This concept is somewhat similar to T-Mobile’s Hotspot@Home service but has an upperhand to T-Mobile’s service because Airave uses CDMA signal to communicate compared to Wi-Fi used by T-Mobile. It means that any phone on Sprint will be able to enjoy the service.

Regarding the price, Airave is charged at $15 per month for individuals and $30 for families in selected areas of Denver and Indianapolis.
