It seems Samsung deliberately didn’t reveal intrinsic details of its new camcorders. While they were happy to flaunt ToC design, active angle lens, et al, there was no sign of the resolution the camcorder was able to record. Now, thanks to Crunchgear we know it and to cut it straight, the new camcorders are beauty over matter.
SMX-C10 and SMX-C14 can shoot at DVD resolution and can click still images at 800X600 resolution or 1600X1200 pixels by way of interpolation.
Normal mode: 720×480/60i
Web mode: 640×480/30p
Digital still photos: 800×600, but increased to 1600×1200 by interpolation.
I hope Samsung prices these camcorders right so that the limitation of the integral features is justified.
