S-LCD, a joint venture between Samsung and Sony has commenced operations of second 8th generation line for LCD panels. The company had invested 1.8 trillion KRW (around $1.5 billion) and provides LCD panels to other TV-making companies, including Samsung and Sony. The new line will mainly produce 32/46/52-inches panels with a year-end target of up to 70,000 sheets.
