Looks like Indians are in for a treat these two months. Samsung India’s Country Head, Guru Dutt has confirmed that they’ll bring about 7 new phones by July, including an Android phone. Their aim is to capture about 20 percent of the market by the end of this year and with the powerpacked list to support their cause, there is a chance they might achieve it.
June:
Samsung Jet in the last week for Rs. 24,150.
July:
This is the golden month. Three phones from the Omnia range, one an entry level rugged phone, 12MP Pixon and an Android phone.

OmniaPRO 7610 – Rs. 27,000

On which exact_date Samsung i8910 HD will be released in India? Are they improved poor audio quality problem expressed by prior-users? desperately waiting for that HD’core device.

Samsung-Please release those devices ASAP. I am badly waiting for the HD from May,now it’s middle of July. I also like the Omnia PRO. So please please release the phones. I bet I’ll be the first to buy one from my area.
BTW-We should release them before Singapore does. It’s a shame for us and INDIA.
I just asked for the Omnia HD yesterday in bangalore, Its not yet came… so pity !
I’m just waiting for its lunch so I’ll buy it with out missing even one moment…

Hi Ardalan,I am sure it won’t come here soon. If we are lucky then 15-20 August would be the date,otherwise if it releases normally then September will be the time.

Hi Saurav, I think thats true and its very bad… even I have checked the ” Samsung Mobile India ” web site, only two new models are going to be upcomming ones and there is no any sign of Omnia HD… But why ?
I dont know whether I should buy it from another source out of India or not ? as I really need to change my handset !!

@Ardalan,Hi. The most bad thing is we are so late to get these phones. I was checking the samsung india website for last one month,it’s all same,not a single change in the page. Btw-The HD will release in Singapore on 1st August,so just 4 days from now.they have already released the Omnia 2/i8000 on 18th,so it’s 10 days gone and we are unable to even announce it,that’s a shame.
And I can tell you please don’t buy the HD from outside India. It won’t be good,I have one friend returned from UK with an Orange branded Omnia HD,he asked me to take it,I ignored straight away. It’s my opinion though. After waiting for this phone for last 45-50 days I finally purchased a Samsung Jet/S8003 and Sony Ericsson W995,and I am happy,but still I’ll wait for it.
Okay,so 10 hours to go to August 1,that means Samsung will launch 5 phones more within 10 hours. This is a Fu**ing article,remove it. and Mr. Dutt please be sure next time you comment,you are a Country Head of a large country,so no bullsh*t next time.
So now omnia hd has come on samsung india site in upcuming set,,can anyone please tell when it will be releasing,..also whether at 36k it will be having 8gb or 16gb internal memory

It’s not possible to have the 1GHz processor,because when the world is using a 600MHz processor India is nothing special,so we will have the same 600MHz processor like other Omnia HD’s. Anybody have idea when it will Finally release?

They have just added the clock speeds of the chips on the architecture which does come out to be over 1GHz.

I called one retailer in Kolkata today,they have no information about the HD,but the Omnia Pro 7320 already is in their store at 14,500. So when we can except this to the retailers?

Finally got it yesterday. I was the first person to buy it in my city. It cost me 28,000/- for the 16GB model. Just loving it,fantastic device.

I am from Kolkata. The Shop is ‘Arora’s DP Electronics’. I don’t know Samsung reduced the price or not,without any negotiation they said 28K. The Omnia PRO 7320 is priced at 14,250/-(where here it’s stated as 16,500/-) and Samsung Marine is at 5,200/- (where in most reviews it’s stated at 7000/-). I think there is something wrong with these internet prices.

If u can check out the firmware version u are having in ur phone,,the latest firmware is i8910ZXiG4
Just check it out if its having this latest firmware or it is shipped with the old one
And if u can post some photos/videos of it,,but please do report about its firmware

The FW version is I8910DDIG3,Date-17/07/2009. I have no idea is it updated or not,but I tried to update via Samsung PC Studio 7,but that crap software doesn’t support the i8910. I think we have to wait a few days more to have the updated firmware,the Jet FW is officially available on the Samsung website,so we can hope the HD FW will be available soon.
I’ll definitely try to post some Pics/Videos from the phone.

I have heard from two of my friends that there is no portrait mode for writing/messaging/browsing in omnia hd,,u have to use landscape mode everytime

That’s completely wrong,you can easily use Portrait mode as well as the Landscape for the mentioned purposes.
Anybody knows when Samsung will upload the new firmware to their PC Studio? Because this IG3 is so frustrating for the built in Web Browser,and specially that ‘STOP’ bug. I’ve to use Opera Mini,but can’t use it for long as it is not a full featured browser. If anybody already updated their Omnia HD firmware please let me know.
