Sharp infringes one Samsung patent while Samsung infringes four

Samsung Sharp

It seems the courtroom battle between two multinationals will last longer than expected. ITC on Wednesday ruled that Sharp infringed one Samsung owned patent and called for an import ban on Sharp infringed products. However, as one would expect, Sharp is looking to appeal the decision.

“We will study the ruling and take necessary steps, including the possibility of an appeal,” said Sharp’s spokesperson.

On the other hand, Samsung too was found infringing Sharp’s four patents in another case by the administrative law judge but the decision is still awaited. The outcome of the decision could bar Samsung from importing products that infringe Sharp’s IP.
