Samsung has announced the 8500 Series LED TV, its new flagship model of the HDTV lineup. Coming in sizes of 46- and 55-inches, the Touch of Color (ToC) painted TVs pack a lot of features, better picture quality and connectivity options.
The feature set boasts a full HD playback, 7,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 2ms response time, 240Hz refresh rate to reduce motion blur, DLNA certified, 2GB internal memory, Internet@TV, widgets, local dimming and MPEG4/DivX/MP3/JPEG decoders.
The TV has abundant A/V connectivity options that includes 4 HDMI inputs, 2 USB 2.0, Component, Ethernet, Optical Audio output and a PC input.
The TVs will hit the retail shelves in September at a price of $3,600 (46-inch) and $4,500 (55-inch).

Missfortunely, the samsung 8500 and 9000 series will not be released in 2009. At the IFA 2009 in BERLIN, it was even reported that these items simply do not exist, even as prototype…
We’ll have to wait until march 2010.. or more
