Confident Taiwan-based makers believe Samsung will pass Asus and HP in netbook shipments to take the second spot in Europe for the second last quarter of this year. The reason for Samsung’s success in Europe is to tie netbooks with different carriers, which they’re trying to replicate in US and the Asian region as well.
Though the exact number of netbook shipments are unknown, Samsung shipped about 2.15m notebooks (presumably includes netbooks) globally for the first half, including 1m in Europe alone.
