Well if you wanted to take a look at Samsung’s behemoth 12MP sensor with 3X optical zoom that is integrated in the SCH-W880, Samsung has gladly shared the picture of the module. The module has been developed by Samsung Electro-Mechanics (SEM) and as we know it’s the world’s first module for mobile phone to integrate 12MP sensor with optical zoom.
SEM claims that the module’s flash related circuits help to maintain a constant brightness with subjects being shot at a distance as close as 10cm or up to 150cm. The flash light effectively reaches up to 3 meters.
As for other features, the camera module supports 1280×720 pixels video recording at 30fps, image stabilization, face detection up to 10 faces, blink detection, panorama, macro mode etc.
